Walker Percy, anyone?

My sister said when she read The Thanatos Syndrome that towards the end he had apparently got in a big hurry to hand it in. Well, he was about dead, now wasn't he?

And yet.

Twiggs Jameson

I have a theory about the actual identity of the pseudonymous Twiggs Jameson, author of the Grove Press funny dirty book Billy & Betty.

But my theory is beyond the scope of this blog, for which refer to earlier posts. This blog has a limited set of goals, but they are well-defined, which means the same thing as limited.

Frederick Barthelme

It's been a while since I read a book by Frederick Barthelme, but I buy one every time one comes out. Except that gambling memoir I missed, when it came out.

This should really go without saying

The Horace illustration here is a little like the mermaid pic that is the original of the Starbucks logo, in a way, and that's the way I like it.

And as for James Salter:

Yeah, that's James Salter.

Not all that much to do with Charles Portis

This blog doesn't have all that much to do with Charles Portis.
